City ride luck
Manchester City rode their luck as they edged past Everton to restore their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League.
City won 1-0 at Goodison Park thanks to Phil Foden’s goal eight minutes from time, but they also enjoyed a huge slice of luck late on when VAR concluded there was no penalty after Rodri controlled the ball in the area with his arm.
The outcome affects both ends of the table with City now 1.3 to win the title and Liverpool 4 - it seems the teams’ clash at the Etihad on 10 April will be pivotal in terms of the destination of the Premier League trophy.
Congested relegation battle
The Toffees are now hovering just one place and one point above the relegation zone after taking five points from 27 and are 5.6 for the drop.
Leeds sacked manager Marcelo Bielsa after one point from six games left them two points above the drop zone having played two more than Burnley in third bottom.
Former Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig boss Jesse Marsch is lined up to replace the Argentinian, but given Bielsa extracted more from the players than even they thought possible, the question is how they will respond.
Leeds are at 2.78 for the drop with a 40% probability of going down, and are third favourites behind Norwich (1.07) and Watford (1.27).
Burnley are unbeaten in three and host Leicester – who are spiralling at the moment – on Tuesday and they are at 2.86 to go down while Newcastle are on an upward trajectory and at 8.8 to go down - at the beginning of February they were as short as 2.6.

Top four conundrum
While several teams scramble for survival, so is there a race for the top four with Chelsea and Manchester United occupying the two slots behind City and Liverpool, who won the EFL Cup on Sunday.
Chelsea are at 1.05 for a top-four finish with Arsenal – currently in sixth but with games in hand on those around them – next favourites to secure a Champions League spot at 1.78.
West Ham are available at a surprising 14.5 despite being in fifth after beating Wolves, with Manchester United at 3.55 while Tottenham, with games in hand but inconsistent, are 4.5.
Fulham and Bournemouth bouncing back?
Fulham appear to be easing to an instant return to the top flight and are 1.16 to win the Championship. Bournemouth are nine points behind in the second automatic spot but have two games in hand and are on a four-match winning run.
The teams meet at the Vitality Stadium in Bournemouth’s penultimate home game of the season and the Cherries are 4.7 to win the title.
Rotherham are similarly on the march at the top of League One with 25 points from 27 and hold a nine-point lead over second-placed Wigan. The Millers are 1.12 to win the title although the Latics have two games in hand and are 5 to top the table in May.
Forest Green Rovers have lost their last two games but still hold a 10-point lead at the top of League Two and are 1.05 for the title.
Behind them the race for promotion is intense with four points separating second to seventh. With six wins and two draws in their last eight, Exeter have propelled themselves to fourth, two points off third-placed Tranmere, but with three games in hand, and they are at 1.74 to go up.
