The penultimate weekend of the Premier League season approaches with issues to be resolved at both ends of the table - here's a selection of our best bets for Sunday's games.

Leeds United vs Brighton and Hove Albion

2pm

Life’s looking bleak for the West Yorkshire side who start the game in the drop zone and with just two games to secure survival.

Jesse Marsch’s team have lost three straight matches coupled with red cards to Luke Ayling and Dan James in the last two outings. They face an in-form Brighton at Elland Road knowing that defeat and victories for Burnley and Everton would effectively relegate them given their far inferior goal difference.

The Seagulls are ninth and arrive in Leeds on the back of two straight victories in which they scored seven without conceding. Graham Potter’s team have also won three of their last four away games - their only defeat coming at Manchester City – with Leandro Trossard scoring in four of the last six.

Apart from City, Brighton’s opponents have failed to deal with their 3-4-2-1 formation and they are a team on top form and confidence.

Recommended bet: Brighton to score in both halves @ 3.4

West Ham vs Manchester City

2pm, Sky Sports Main Event

The Hammers start in seventh knowing that a point would all but seal a place in Europe. They got back to winning ways by crushing Norwich last time out with Michail Antonio scoring his first goal since New Year’s Day. It was a welcome return to form for David Moyes’ side after losing four straight games in all competitions.

Manchester City present fearsome opponents though, and are on the brink of the title after five straight league wins. They have scored 22 goals during that run and their destiny is entirely in their own hands.

Recommended bet: Man City to win/BTTS @ 2.7

Man City manager Pep Guardiola has seen his side win five straight Premier League games to get to the brink of winning another title

Watford vs Leicester City

2pm

The Hornets will play in the Championship next season after relegation was confirmed last weekend. Although they halted a run of 11 straight league defeats at Vicarage Road with a draw against Everton in midweek, it was a poor game and the chaos of recent seasons has caught up with them.

They have already started rebuilding by appointing Rob Edwards as manager days after he led Forest Green Rovers to the League Two title.

The Foxes claimed their first league win in six games as they sent Norwich packing in midweek, and will be looking to build on that at Vicarage Road. Jamie Vardy was a menace throughout the game, scoring twice, begging the question of what might have been this season if he had not missed so many games with injury.

Recommended bet: Vardy to score anytime @ 1.99

Everton vs Brentford

4:30pm, Sky Sports Main Event

Should Everton win and other results go their way, the Toffees can confirm Premier League safety. Two wins and a draw in their last three games have hoisted them to within sight of another season in the top flight, although their lack of composure against Watford cost them all three points.

A pragmatic approach and miserly defence have made the difference for Frank Lampard’s side. So too has the Goodison Park crowd, who have played a ferocious part.

Thomas Frank has been nominated for Premier League manager of the season following the Bees’ fine campaign which sees them sit comfortably in 13th. They defeated Southampton with ease last time out to bounce back from taking one point from two games.

The west London side beat Everton earlier this season in the teams’ first Premier League meeting. However, they face an opponent desperate for points and riding the momentum.

Recommended bet: Everton to win @ 2.16

Recommended bets

Brighton score both halves @ 3.4

Man City/BTTS @ 2.7

Vardy anytime @ 1.99

Everton @ 2.16
