Tottenham can pile the pressure on Arsenal with win

Only a win would do for Tottenham in the north London derby on Thursday night, and a win was what they got.

Two first-half goals from Harry Kane set Spurs on their way against Arsenal, who played most of the match at a numerical disadvantage after Rob Holding was sent off in the first half for two bookable offences. Son Heung-min’s strike soon after half-time completed the job as Antonio Conte’s side ran out 3-0 winners.

Spurs now have the chance to pile the pressure on Arsenal: a victory here would see them move into fourth place before the Gunners take on Newcastle on Monday night.

They are unlikely to pass up the opportunity. Burnley have had five days’ extra rest but Spurs were able to conserve energy in the second half against the 10 men of Arsenal. Antonio Conte will want his players to make a fast start – Spurs to be winning at half-time looks tempting at 1.8.

Hary Kane scored twice against Arsenal, while Son Heung-min was also on target, as he bids to beat Mo Salah in the race for the Golden Boot

Burnley's relegation scrap could go down to wire

Burnley’s interim boss Mike Jackson won the Manager of the Month award for April after taking 10 points from a possible 12 in his first four games at the helm.

Yet a 3-0 defeat by Aston Villa last weekend has brought the Clarets back down to earth. They head to north London outside the bottom three on goal difference alone. Our traders give them a 40% chance of going down, compared to 57% for Leeds United. The battle against the drop could go right down to the wire.

Burnley have a game in hand on Leeds, but they would have preferred a kinder fixture this weekend. Jackson has encouraged his team to play a bit more expansively since taking charge, but we are more likely to see a typical backs-to-the-wall display from Burnley here.

Their best hope is keeping things tight early on and hoping Spurs get frustrated, but the hosts have the firepower to score in both halves – they are priced at 1.97 to do so, as they did in midweek.

Son can continue scoring streak

Son Heung-min is in the form of his life. He scored his 21st goal of the season on Thursday and is now just one behind Mohamed Salah in the race for the Golden Boot. The Egypt international was considered a shoe-in for that prize at one stage, but Son is now given a 37% chance of ending the campaign as the division’s top scorer.

Considering he has scored 10 goals in his last eight appearances for Spurs, the South Korean is good value at 1.99 to find the back of the net anytime in the early kick-off on Sunday.

Recommended bets

Spurs first half @ 1.8

Spurs score both halves @ 1.97

Son anytime @ 1.99
