Premier League: Leeds and Spurs set for exciting Elland Road battle

Antonio Conte questioned whether he is the right man for the job after Tottenham went down to a midweek defeat at Burnley, but he may not be seeing that after a trip to Elland Road.

Inconsistent Spurs

The Italian has only been in charge of Spurs for 22 games and the loss at Turf Moor was their fourth in five league games to leave the North London club eighth in the Premier League.

Leeds play host in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off in the midst of a relegation fight after a woeful run that has brought just one point from 15 available, and on the back of a 6-0 drubbing by Liverpool.

Leeds are at 4 to win with a draw 3.9 and Spurs 1.94 for all three points.

Bielsa stares relegation in the face

Marcelo Bielsa admitted his side were in a relegation battle after watching his porous defence leak six more goals at Anfield in midweek.

The absences of Patrick Bamford – who scored 17 goals last season - Liam Cooper and Kalvin Phillips have hit hard and they are on a real downward spiral.

Leeds have conceded 56 goals this season - the highest in the Premier League - including 31 in the past nine matches.

Given how condensed it is at the bottom of the table with six points separating the bottom six, goal difference may come into play in the final reckoning with only Norwich currently faring worse than the Yorkshire side.

However, they have scored the most of the bottom seven teams and both teams to score is at 1.57.

Raphinha is top scorer with nine and he is at 2.68 to score anytime with Dan James, who got two in the 3-3 draw at Aston Villa, at 3.35.

Harry Kane was in superb form when scoring a brace against Man City last weekend

Kane's late, late show

Tottenham lost ground on a top-four place with defeat at Burnley who showed off all their experience and knowhow.

Seven points separate them from Manchester United, who occupy the last Champions League spot, and although Spurs have two games in hand, current form hardly gives cause for optimism that they will cut the deficit.

Their last two league wins came away from home at Manchester City and Leicester and both featured added-time winners.

That suggests a never-day-die spirit and determination which they will need at an always partisan Elland Road.

Harry Kane stunned Manchester City with two late goals and he is at 1.92 as anytime scorer with Heung-Min Son at 2.02.

Expect an Elland Road battle

Both teams really need to get a positive result in the midst of their respective battles.

Given Leeds’ problems are in defence, it is hard to see them withstand the likes of Kane although the north London side have only scored two more than their hosts.

Conte’s first win in charge came against Leeds in November when they came from behind to secure a 2-1 success after an anonymous first half. Tottenham to win and both teams to score is at 3.45.

However, Leeds responded to previous drubbings by Manchester City and Arsenal by winning two straight games – their only back-to-back victories this season.

Leeds to win and both teams to score is at 6.2 while a draw and both to score is 4.5.
