Premier League: Kane and Spurs can avenge Chelsea cup defeat

Antonio Conte's unbeaten Premier League record as Tottenham manager was under grave threat on Wednesday. As the clock ticked into the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time, Spurs were 2-1 down to Leicester. Incredibly, they still found a way to win.

Steven Bergwijn was the hero, scoring twice off the bench to earn Tottenham all three points. For the rest of the game, Harry Kane was Spurs' biggest threat. He took 10 shots in total - the most he's managed in a Premier League game since December 2017.

Kane is looking sharp again, and with Son Heung-min out injured, he'll be relied upon even more heavily this weekend. Our traders price him at 2.92 to score anytime.

Chelsea's title hopes over amid sticky patch

Chelsea were top of the Premier League at the start of last month, but they have no chance of winning the title now. Manchester City have a 12-point lead over Thomas Tuchel's side, who have played one more game than the champions.

Chelsea are going through a sticky patch, having won only one of their last seven Premier League outings. Tuchel's 3-4-3 system isn't as effective without Reece James and Ben Chilwell, his first-choice full-backs. Chelsea are struggling in defence too, with only one clean sheet since mid-November.

If they aren't careful, Chelsea could get dragged back into the top-four race. Spurs are eight points behind them but have four games in hand. Sunday's clash is vital for both teams.

Tottenham can avenge League Cup semi-final defeat

The gulf between these two sides in their recent League Cup semi-final was significant. Chelsea outclassed Tottenham in both legs, winning 3-0 on aggregate while barely breaking sweat. Even Conte admitted after the first match that Spurs couldn't compete with their London rivals right now.

Those comments were intended to be taken with a pinch of salt, though; Conte no doubt had the transfer market in mind when he made them. He and his players will be motivated to avenge their semi-final loss on Sunday.

Conte is an excellent coach whose teams tend to turn up in the big games. That might not have been the case in the League Cup, but Tottenham were excellent in a 2-2 draw with Liverpool in December.

The away team can be backed at 5.5 to triumph at Stamford Bridge - an attractive price given Chelsea's struggles of late. If you want to hedge your bets, back a draw or Tottenham in the double chance market at 2.28.
