Premier League: Hammers to edge high-scoring game with Leeds

A few weeks ago it looked as if West Ham's top-four push had run out of steam. David Moyes' men have got back on track recently, though, and their 2-0 victory over Norwich on Wednesday saw them climb into the final Champions League spot for the first time since mid-December.

That win against Norwich was West Ham's third on the bounce. They have the bit between their teeth right now and would probably back themselves to beat any team in the division on their day.

The Hammers only scored twice last time out, but they have been hugely effective in attack of late. West Ham have found the net 11 times in their last four outings, while Jarrod Bowen's double against Norwich kept up their record of having scored in every home game this term.

Against a Leeds side not exactly renowned for their defensive solidity, back West Ham to score in both halves at 2.36.

Leeds have breathing space between bottom three

Leeds ran out 3-1 winners in a crunch clash with Burnley on New Year's weekend. That ended a four-match winless run and saw Marcelo Bielsa's men move eight points clear of the drop zone.

The Yorkshire club have had their problems this season, but they're on course to survive in the top flight for another campaign. Given the injury issues they've had to contend with, that would be a good outcome for the Whites.

Leeds are without a clean sheet in their last five encounters, but they've also struggled for goals aside from the Burnley game. Only five teams have found the net less often this season.

With Patrick Bamford a doubt for Sunday's game, West Ham to win to nil looks like good value at 3.1.

West Ham boss David Moyes will be delighted with the form of former Hull man Jarrod Bowen

Bowen becoming one of the league's most effective attackers

Bowen was the matchwinner last time out, as his brace put Norwich to the sword. With five goals and seven assists, Bowen now has more goal involvements this season than all but three Premier League players - his team-mate Michail Antonio (13), Emmanuel Dennis (13) and Mo Salah (25).

The former Hull winger might not be at West Ham for too long if he keeps this form up. Liverpool are thought to be keen, while Manchester United has also been spoken of as a possible destination for a player who cost West Ham £22m in January 2020.

For now, though, transfer talk can wait. In the meantime Bowen is an astute choice to score first on Sunday - our traders price that at 9.
