Promotion on the minds of both teams

While a run in the FA Cup appears to have benefited Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield Town ahead of their fifth round clash on Monday, both teams are striving for returns to the Premier League this season.

A 3-0 win for Huddersfield against visitors Peterborough United on Friday saw the Terriers move up to second place in the Championship table on the night. Forest were also in action on Yorkshire soil on Friday night, as a 95th-minute header from Ryan Yates saw them come away from Sheffield United with a 1-1 draw.

Both the Terriers and Forest have come on leaps and bounds this season with their respective managers Carlos Corberan and Steve Cooper deserving plenty of credit. Monday night provides an opportunity to extend their impressive Cup runs, with a home clash against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool the prize in the quarter-finals.

Forest will be hoping to celebrate when they take on Huddersfield in Monday night's last FA Cup fifth-round tie

City Ground holds fond memories for Terriers

Nottingham Forest’s home turf has been a happy hunting ground for Huddersfield over the last couple of years. The West Yorkshire outfit have managed to win on their last two visits to the City Ground without conceding a goal.

Huddersfield are 3.8 to win in the 90 minutes on Monday night, with Forest at 2.06 and a draw at 3.3. Corberan’s side are in excellent form going into their next trip to the East Midlands, as they are currently on a four-game winning run in the Championship.

Two clean sheets in their last two league outings will also please their Spanish head coach, with his side now on a remarkable 18-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

One has to go back to November 27 to find Huddersfield's last loss in a 2-1 defeat to Middlesbrough. With their excellent form in mind, and considering their record at the City Ground of late, the 3.8 for the away win could be the way to go.

Forest stuttering of late

Still right in the hunt for the Championship playoffs, Forest have found themselves dropping points in recent weeks. Three draws in their last four games will have come as frustration for manager Cooper with his side in eighth place following that stalemate at Bramall Lane.

Goals have been hard to come by against the Terriers of late and Forest might struggle to break Town down on Monday night. Despite having their chances, Cooper’s side were made to work hard for their goal against the Blades and would need to be far more clinical in this Cup encounter.

Huddersfield have only conceded two goals in their last eight games in all competitions and the visitors are 5.9 to win to nil again at the City Ground.
