Tuesday’s Premier League Predictions: Leeds can win huge relegation six-pointer

There are four rearranged Premier League fixtures to look forward to on Tuesday, and most eyes will be on Chelsea’s tasty clash against Liverpool. Greg Lea previews the top-flight action.

Bournemouth v Brighton & Hove Albion

Kick-off: 7.45pm Tuesday

Brighton fell behind against Brentford three times on Saturday, yet they showed considerable resolve to draw 3-3. It was perhaps a case of two dropped points for Albion, though, as they created enough chances to win the match but were ultimately unable to do so.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side is still in the top-four race, but they will need to win their games in hand if they are to pull off the shock. They should have a great chance of beating Bournemouth on paper, but the Cherries have won their last two matches at home so this might not be a straightforward assignment.

Only four teams have a better first-half record away from home than Brighton, who will look to make a fast start at the Vitality Stadium.

Prediction: Brighton winning at half-time @ 2.14

Leeds United v Nottingham Forest

Kick-off: 7.45pm Tuesday

Nottingham Forest were minutes away from ending a six-match winless streak on Saturday, only for Daniel Podence to equalise for Wolverhampton Wanderers late on. Steve Cooper’s side has not won at the City Ground in almost two months, which has left them just a point outside the bottom three.

Forest’s dip in form at home is of particular concern given their wretched record at opposition stadiums. No team in the division has performed worse than Forest on the road, with Cooper having overseen just one victory outside Nottingham.

This is a huge match for both of these relegation contenders, but home advantage could go a long way to determining the outcome. Back Leeds to come out on top.

Prediction: Leeds to win @ 1.86

Leicester City v Aston Villa

Kick-off: 7.45pm Tuesday

Leicester sacked Brendan Rodgers on Sunday, just 24 hours after his team were beaten 2-1 by Crystal Palace. Whoever takes over at the King Power Stadium will have a tough job on their hands as, despite the undoubted quality within their squad, Leicester are in the relegation zone with 10 games remaining.

Only Manchester City and Arsenal have won more games than Aston Villa since Unai Emery’s appointment. The Spaniard has taken his team into the top half and European qualification remains a distinct possibility.

Leicester are much better going forward than they are at the back, while Villa have found the net in each of their last 15 Premier League outings. Both teams to score in a shootout could be the way to play this.

Prediction: Both teams to score and Over 2.5 goals @ 2.08

Chelsea v Liverpool

Kick-off: 8pm Tuesday

Chelsea dropped into the bottom half of the Premier League table on Saturday, a result which led to Graham Potter's sacking the following day. Bruno Saltor will lead the team until a new permanent boss is found.

Mo Salah: scored in Liverpool's 4-1 loss against Man City on Saturday

Liverpool are not exactly full of confidence, either. They were dismantled by Manchester City in a 4-1 defeat at the weekend - a game that the Sky Blues utterly dominated at the Etihad Stadium. The Reds now face an uphill battle to finish in the top four.

Ten of Chelsea’s last 12 matches have featured under 2.5 goals, while Liverpool have the 13th-best away record in the league. This is unlikely to be a thriller.

Prediction: Under 2.5 goals @ 2.1
