Vikings to keep play-off hopes alive

The Monday Night Football provides a showdown in the NFC North as the Minnesota Vikings look to keep their play-off hopes alive when they travel to rivals the Chicago Bears.

Minnesota impressed last time out against the Pittsburgh Steelers and with quarterback Kirk Cousins continuing to impress, they will be hoping to condemn the Bears to what will be a 10th defeat of the regular season.

Cousins finding form at the right time

After back-to-back defeats against the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions, it was vital for Cousins’ confidence to get back to winning ways against the Steelers.

A 36-28 win in Pittsburgh helped stop the rot and means that Cousins’ Vikings still have a chance of a wildcard spot in the play-offs.

The former Washington QB has enjoyed a standout season in Minnesota, passing for 3,569 yards and throwing 27 touchdown passes in 16 outings.

Wide receivers Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen have been the big threats for the Vikings and have benefited from a stellar campaign from Cousins so far.

If Cousins can pick up where he left off against the Steelers, then the Vikings should win this one, and are 70% in our market to do so at Soldier Field.

Bears stuck in a rut

It really has been a tough spell for Chicago going into this encounter with the Vikings, as the Bears have lost seven of their last eight games.

A 45-30 defeat at the hands of NFC North frontrunners the Green Bay Packers just highlighted where this Bears defense is right now.

Head coach Matt Nagy is set to be leaving the franchise at the end of the season and this team seems to be one in limbo right now and without a sense of direction.

Bears struggled to contain the Packers last time out

Justin Fields looks to be the quarterback for the future at Soldier Field but it has been a tricky rookie season for him.

Just six touchdown passes in 11 games and 10 interceptions thrown represents a tough start to life in the NFL for a player who clearly has plenty of potential.

Fields’ defensive line has hardly helped him out, with the QB already being sacked 33 times for a total loss of 234 yards.

This game that kicks off at 1.15am UK time on Tuesday morning at Soldier Field looks set to be another tough night for Fields and his offense.

It just looks like the Bears are not going to get enough points against a stern Vikings’ defense and it would be no surprise to see Minnesota cover the -7.0 on the points spread at 2.14.

The Vikings are the ones with something to play for as they cling to hopes of reaching the play-offs and that motivation should show through in this divisional showdown.

Recommended bets:

Minnesota win with -7.0 on points spread at 2.14
