Are you ready for some midweek Premier League action? Our football expert Greg Lea certainly is, and he has provided four tips for Tuesday night.

Crystal Palace v Brentford

Kick-off: 7.30pm Tuesday

Crystal Palace stormed into a 2-0 lead at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, but Manchester City came roaring back with four second-half goals to leave the Eagles empty-handed. Although it came in dramatic circumstances, a City victory was a fair result as Palace generally struggled to provide a counter-attacking threat without Wilfried Zaha.

Patrick Vieira hopes that his talisman, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea, will be back for the visit of Brentford. If he is not, Palace’s response to a reduced attacking threat will be to keep things tight defensively - both meetings between these sides ended 0-0 last term, and this could be another low-scoring affair.

Since Vieira’s appointment, Palace have scored in all but two of their home games against non-top six opponents. I fancy the hosts to find the net without response here.

Selection: Crystal Palace to win to nil @ 3.55

Fulham v Brighton

Kick-off: 7.30pm Tuesday

Brighton are flying high in a Champions League spot after accumulating 10 points from a possible 12 so far this season. Their impressive performances have been rewarded with good results, and Graham Potter’s side will be contenders for a top-seven finish providing they continue to find the back of the net.

Meanwhile, Fulham gave top-of-the-table Arsenal a scare last Saturday. Aleksandar Mitrović put The Cottagers in front at the Emirates Stadium, before goals from Martin Ødegaard and Gabriel Magalhães turned the match around in Arsenal’s favour.

Aleksander Mitrović: continues to score after a record-setting Championship campaign

Manager Marco Silva has put a desire to dominate possession behind him since being promoted from the Championship and Fulham will try to physically impose themselves on Tuesday. Nevertheless, it’s hard to envisage them beating a quality Brighton side.

Selection: Brighton to win @ 2.32

Southampton v Chelsea

Kick-off: 7.45pm Tuesday

Raheem Sterling’s brace saw 10-man Chelsea scrape past Leicester City on Saturday. Even Conor Gallagher’s first-half red card couldn’t help the visitors pick up much-needed points.

It was an important win for the Blues, but it still feels like there are issues to resolve at Stamford Bridge, not least the current squad members. Thomas Tuchel seeks three more signings this week - an indication that he is not content with the depth currently at his disposal.

Southampton were unfortunate to lose to Manchester United on Saturday. They created enough opportunities to take a point from the game, and impressive displays from Armel Bella-Kotchap and Romeo Lavia shouldn’t be overlooked. This is a youthful and enthusiastic Southampton side, and if Chelsea don’t reach the required level at St Mary’s then they could come unstuck.

Selection: Southampton or draw @ 2.46

Leeds United v Everton

Kick-off: 8pm Tuesday

Everton still haven’t got started this season, despite drawing 1-1 away at Brentford last Saturday. Frank Lampard will have been frustrated that his team were unable to hold on for a momentum-shifting victory and they remain in the relegation zone with only two points to their name.

Leeds suffered their first defeat of the campaign against Brighton on matchday four, going down 1-0 at the Amex Stadium. It was the first time they have drawn a blank in the 2022/23 season, yet the Whites still boast the sixth-best attacking record in the division..

A big part of that is the form of Rodrigo Moreno, who has found the back of the net four times – only Erling Haaland has more goals to his name this campaign. The Spaniard is attractively-priced to score against an Everton team that still searches for their first clean sheet.

Selection: Rodrigo to score anytime @ 3.45

Recommended trades

Crystal Palace v Brentford: Crystal Palace to win to nil @ 3.45
Fulham v Brighton: Brighton to win @ 2.32
Southampton v Chelsea: Southampton or draw @ 2.46
Leeds v Everton: Rodrigo anytime goalscorer @ 3.45
