Monday's Nations League tips: winless France face Croatia in Paris

Monday is the penultimate day of this summer’s Nations League fixtures, and the world champions are among the teams in action - here are our top tips for five selected matches.
Kazakhstan vs Slovakia
3pm, Premier Sports 1
Slovakia’s Nations League matches up to now have not been thrillers, with two 1-0 wins and a 1-0 defeat. They trail Group C3 leaders Kazakhstan by a point, so this head-to-head clash between the pair could go a long way to determining which side goes on to win promotion to League B.
Kazakhstan have done brilliantly so far, not least in beating Slovakia away from home. However, the visitors have more quality within their squad and will fancy their chances of coming out on top on Monday.
Recommended bet: Slovakia to win @ 1.8
Azerbaijan vs Belarus
5pm, Premier Sports 1
Azerbaijan have yet to score a goal this campaign and a failure to do so at home to Belarus would be a major disappointment. Their upcoming opponents have not won an away game against European opposition since September 2020, but they have lost only one of their first three matches in Group C3.
Given they have scored just one goal between them so far, we can expect a low-scoring encounter in Baku.
Recommended bet: Under 1.5 goals @ 2.44
Denmark vs Austria
7.45pm, Box Nation
Denmark lead the way in Group A1 after two wins in three games, but a 1-0 home defeat by Croatia on Friday means they still have work to do in order to finish top. A late goal from Jens Stryger Larsen earned them a victory over Austria in the reverse fixture, and the same result is a distinct possibility here.
Denmark have won five of their last six home games, conceding only one goal in those victories. The odds on a home win and a clean sheet are too tempting to pass up.
Recommended bet: Denmark to win to nil @ 3
France vs Croatia
7.45pm, Premier Sports 1
France are still looking for their first win of the 2022/23 Nations League, having followed up an opening-round defeat by Denmark with 1-1 draws against Croatia and Austria. If the reigning champions want to advance to the Finals again, they will need to start winning games quickly.
This could be the match where they finally get off the mark. France are yet to keep a clean sheet in Group A1 which will give Croatia hope, but a home win is the most likely outcome in this one.
Recommended bet: France to win and both teams to score @ 3.85
Iceland vs Israel
7.45pm, Premier Extra
With relegation no longer a factor in Group B2 following Russia’s expulsion, the pressure is off Iceland, Israel and Albania. One of these two teams is likely to win promotion, with Israel holding a two-point advantage at the midway stage.
The first game between these teams was an entertaining 2-2 draw. Given that Iceland have scored in all but one of their last eight games, and Israel are playing more attacking football under Alon Hazan, there will probably be goals at both ends again on Monday.
Recommended bet: Both teams to score @ 1.88
Recommended bets
Slovakia @ 1.8
Azerbaijan/Belarus under 1.5 @ 2.44
Denmark to nil @ 3
France/BTTS @ 3.85
Iceland/Israel BTTS @ 1.88
