Reigning champions Real Madrid will face RB Leipzig, Shakhtar Donetsk and Celtic in the 2022/23 Champions League group stage as they bid to lift the prestigious Europe’s premium trophy for the sixth time in the last ten years.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side has made the perfect start to their La Liga campaign and currently available at 13.5 with Smarkets to win the Champions League. Vinicius Junior’s 59th minute strike saw them past Liverpool in the final back in May, and Jurgen Klopp’s side will undoubtedly seek revenge this time around.

The Reds, who were selected from Pot 2 in the 2022/23 Champions League draw, were allocated Group A alongside Ajax, Napoli and Rangers. Klopp’s side will fancy their chances against that opposition.

Mo Salah: will look to have another prolific goal-scoring campaign in the Champions League

Rangers scraped through into the group stage after notching a 3-2 aggregate victory against PSV Eindhoven in the playoffs. The last time they played Liverpool, they were beaten 4-0 at Ibrox Stadium back in 2008.

Reigning English champions Manchester City were pitched into Group G with Sevilla, FC Copenhagen and Borussia Dortmund, which means star Norwegian striker Erling Haaland will face his old club after moving in the summer.

Chelsea will face AC Milan, RB Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb, while Tottenham Hotspur clash against last year’s Europa Cup winner Eintracht Frankfurt, Sporting Lisbon and Olympique Marseille. Nice trips to Germany, Portugal and France await Antonio Conte’s men.

Group C is considered the ‘Group of death’ as German champions Bayern Munich will battle it out against Barcelona, Inter Milan and Viktoria Plzen. The first three clubs named have a total of 13 Champions League trophies in their cabinet and will have to fight in order to add another.
